Crispim BJJ and Walnut Grove Elementary School in Pleasanton

Alexander Crispim and Crispim BJJ would like to thank Walnut Grove Elementary School in Pleasanton for allowing us to visit the school and teach Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to 23 of their 2nd through 5th graders for the past 4 Friday mornings.  Walnut Grove offers an annual Renzulli program where they ask for parent volunteers to come in and teach the children things of interest.  For example, besides Jiu Jitsu, many parent volunteers came in and taught cooking, frisbee, yoga, Chinese dance and many other wonderful activities.  This is a phenomenal program and a great way of exposing our children to many new different things with the hope of generating interest and awareness for things they may not have been able to experience.

The past four Fridays have been incredible.   Crispim worked with these children in basic jiu jitsu skills such as arm bars, how to fall properly, passing guard, escaping from mount and much more.  He even spent one Friday training them similar to how “fighters” train with a very fun cardio workout .  The kids had a blast and many of them have expressed interest in continuing their training.  We are so fortunate to have our children attend this school and to be part of a school district who, in spite of huge budget cuts, finds ways to still provide our kids with creative teaching programs.

Also, we would like to thank the UFC gym who allowed us to borrow their mats to bring to the school so that the children had a safe environment to train.

Finally, for all of our Renzulli students, we are offering one week of Free training to you if you would like to come visit our academy and take some additional classes.  And, as a proud member of the PTA, we are waiving our sign up fees for all PTA members through the end of April 2010.

Thank you again to Walnut Grove and to all of our Renzulli Brazilian Jiu Jitsu students.  We had a great time!
