Alexander Crispim Hosts Demo at UFC-Gym

Alexander Crispim, of Crispim BJJ Barra Brothers in Pleasanton and of the UFC-Gym in Concord, hosted a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Self Defense Demonstration at the UFC-Gym.  The basis of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is that it provides a means for a smaller and weaker person to successfully defend him/herself against a bigger, stronger assailant by using leverage and proper technique.  In the videos, you can see men, women and kids defending themselves through a variety of positions and techniques.  Through learning the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, you will learn to effectively defend yourself and also build confidence in your ability to take care of yourself.  Crispim BJJ Barra Brothers provides instruction for people of all ages, gender and experience level.

In this video, Alex Crispim demonstrates Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with some of his (upper belt) students who have earned their purple and brown belts.  This level of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu takes years of practice, dedication and discipline.

UFC-Gym Students Take Home The Medals

On Sunday, August 29th, nine of Alexander Crispim and Jesus Mojica’s students from the UFC-Gym in Concord competed in the Grappling X Tournament in Elk Grove.  Out of the nine who competed, SEVEN took home medals.  These white belt students all started training Jiu-Jitsu since the UFC- Gym opened in November and later and in their very short time for training, they have all progressed phenomenally.   These guys were competing against other white belts who have been training for 1-2 years and they didn’t let this affect them in their focus on victory and success.

All nine of these competitors showed passion, skill, and an incredible implementation of the positions and strategies that they have learned from Alexander Crispim and Jesus Mojica.

The results are as follows:

GOLD MEDALS:

Rafael Garcia

Brett Baraquil

SILVER MEDALS:

Mark Ward

John Bon

Andres Morra

Rudy Villalobos

BRONZE MEDAL:

Justin Steele

Crispim, the Crispim BJJ Team in Pleasanton, and the UFC-Gym Team would all like to congratulate all nine of the competitors in their success!! Keep training hard and way to represent.

Alex Crispim Earns the Gold at the Pan Ams

We are proud to announce that our very own, Alexander Crispim, won his three fights today at the Pan American Jiu-Jitsu Championship taking him to the podium and earning the gold medal.  Alexander Crispim would like to thank all of his students, training partners and staff from Crispim BJJ in Pleasanton and the UFC Gym in Concord for their incredible training and support.  Without every one of the white belts, blue belts, purple belts, brown belts and black belts he trains with, Crispim would never have succeeded in his quest for the championship.  Crispim would also like to thank Rob Gibson and Allan Maravilla for constantly pushing his cardio and their absolute dedication in making sure that he is ready for all of his competitions and fights.

Crispim BJJ and Alexander Crispim would also like to congratulate the team on their performances at the Pan Ams this weekend.  Congratulations to Carlos Jimenez for taking the SILVER medal in his division.  And congratulations to Phil Rogacki for earning the BRONZE medal in his division.  In addition, the team had many other competitors who stepped on to the mats and fought good strong fights, with lots of wins, passion, skill, and heart.  It takes a tremendous amount of courage to enter a competition like this and we had both first time tournament competitors as well as seasoned competitors and we are extremely proud of each and every one of you.   We are getting better and stronger every day and with everyone’s continued dedication, support and motivation, we will be unbeatable.

Here is the link for the complete results from the Pan Ams.  Also, we will post pictures and video as we collect it.  Please send us any pictures you have because we are missing pictures from some of our team’s competitions. Thanks.
